U.S. stocks fell Tuesday as corporate earnings and a decline in home prices prompted investors to take a step back. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid 71 points, or 0.6%, to 11093. The Nasdaq Composite lost 0.8% to 2477. The Standard & Poor’s 500-share index shed 0.6% to 1178. Traders have warned the market may be overheating as broad expectations for further support from the central bank fueled a steady climb stretching back to early September.
